Shahada Policy
At New To Islam at Leeds Grand Mosque, we are honored to assist those who wish to embrace Islam through the declaration of faith, the Shahada. To ensure this significant step is approached with thoughtfulness and proper understanding, the following policy applies:
Steps to Take Your Shahada
- Attend a Drop-In Session:
- Individuals interested in taking their Shahada must first attend a drop-in session held every Sunday between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM. This session provides an opportunity to ask questions, discuss Islam, and ensure readiness for this important step.
- Shahada with Sheikh Tahir:
- The Shahada will be conducted by Sheikh Tahir on a mutually agreed date and time. This ensures the moment is meaningful and appropriately prepared for.
- Age Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older to take your Shahada independently.
- If you are under 18, parental or guardian consent is required to proceed.
- How to Arrange Your Shahada:
- Once you have attended a drop-in session, you can email us at nti.lgm@gmail.com to arrange your Shahada with Sheikh Tahir.
We are here to support you throughout this journey and look forward to welcoming you into the fold of Islam. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
