The Leeds Grand Mosque Qur’an School is a well-established weekend school that provides much-needed education in tajweed, Islamic Studies and memorisation of the Qur’an, for
children aged 6-14 years, that runs every Saturday between 9.30am-12noon. We are looking for a number of staff members to join our team.

Islamic Studies Curriculum Lead - 1 post
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will work with the Qur’an School Head Teacher to formulate a comprehensive curriculum for Levels 1-6.
The Curriculum Lead will specialize in Islamic Studies
1. The Curriculum Lead will be expected to create and monitor the delivery and evaluation of weekly lessons in line with the agreed curriculum at Key Stages 1 and 2, and make any necessary ongoing adjustments.
2. The Curriculum Lead will be responsible for implementing effective assessment methods
to monitor pupils’ progression and work with the Head Teacher to ensure all children achieve their highest potential. This will also include using our online Content Management System.
Classroom Experience and putting together schemes of work is essential and a Teaching Qualification is desired. We will also consider applicants who specialise i.e. are degree holders/have ijaaza to teach in Islamic studies.s
The above post is a fixed one-year sessional worker post with a salary £40 per week for 3 hours, term-time only.

Qur’an School Teachers 5 Posts
Purpose of Post
To motivate and engage young people aged 4-11 to improve their tajweed, Qur’anic recitation and Islamic Studies. Delivering an intensive scheme of work consisting of interactive teaching and targeted support, as well as engaging young people in activities that will help develop their academic ability, confidence and a love of learning. The post holder will also ensure outcomes and targets are met, consult with parents and assist with reporting on pupil progress, in conjunction with the Curriculum Lead.
Classroom Experience is essential and Teaching Qualification is desired. We will also consider applicants who specialise i.e. i.e. are degree holders/have ijaaza to teach, in one of the three subjects: tajweed and Islamic Studies.
The above post is a fixed one-year sessional worker post, with a salary £10p/hour, 3 hours per week. Term time only.
Qur’an School Volunteers (Classroom Based) 3 hours per week
Purpose of Post
We are looking for friendly, motivated and responsible individuals that are interested in gaining rewarding classroom experience and working with young children. Classroom based volunteers’ play a key role in supporting children to overcome barriers and engage with learning as well as providing pupils with advice and guidance to develop skills and confidence. No prior classroom experience is necessary, training and support will be given.
All volunteers will receive out of pocket expenses.
