Dear Brothers and Sisters, family of Leeds Grand Mosque,
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
We are pleased to announce that Friday (Jumua) will resume for brothers and sisters from tomorrow Friday 5th March.
Closing the mosque was a very hard decision, but necessary to protect our congregation, staff, and volunteers during the previous period. However, based on the recent updates, and following several rounds of consultation with our scholars and trusted local healthcare professionals we decided to reopen. Alhamdulillah.
The mosque will open at 12:30 and Friday Khotbah starts at 13:00
You do not need to register for attending the prayer, due to the necessity to the social distancing, prayer places will be limited, therefore we will be operating on first come first in basis, so please try to make it as early as possible as when the mosque is full we will have to lock the outside gates.
As for the safety procedures will remain as follows:
1) make wudu at home (wudu facilities and toilets will remain closed)
2) wear a mask,
3) use hand sanitizer,
4) bring your prayer mat and a bag for your shoes
5) maintain the social distance (and leave the mosque straight after the prayer),
May Allah SWT bestow His mercy upon us, and keep everyone safe and well.
