Helping the hungry and homeless in Leeds

Love in a Box is a halal foodbank that provides food parcels to hungry people struggling to afford enough food and once a week delivers 60 home cooked hot meals and essential warm clothes and toiletries to the homeless in Leeds city centre.

Love in a Box is run from Leeds Grand Mosque. It was initially formed in March 2020 to deliver food to people all over Leeds who were self-isolating, shielding or were experiencing financial difficulty due to Covid-19. In October 2020 we established a permanent food bank in the basement of the mosque.

Leeds is a very multicultural city and we serve all communities in Leeds regardless of faith or background. All the food we provide is halal and we also strive to provide staple food stuffs enjoyed by different cultures. We understand that food preferences are shaped by culture and we want everyone to be valued and provided for.

Leeds Grand Mosque is a charity run by the MAB charity trust 1147031.
