We offer student flats to rent, which are located within a ten minute walk to the universities as well as an easy access to the town centre. The apartments are very spacious and are of a high quality, offering students an ideal home and location during their study terms; including double glazing, central heating, burglar alarm and fire alarm. All bedrooms are double and include matching furniture, desk plus chair and a wardrobe. The property has been decorated, carpeted and furnished to create a contemporary feel throughout, including a newly fitted maple kitchen with fridge freezer plus stainless steel oven and hob.

Extension Project The Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allah Alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Among what continues to accrue for a believer of his good works after death is a mosque that he built” (Sunan Ibn Majah and Sunan al-Bayhaqî)

Four years ago, the mosque committee decided to approve building plans to build an extension to the mosque to create a space for additional 600 worshippers to pray – with 325 extra spaces for brothers and another 275 for sisters. Every Jummah, we had more than 1000 people pray in the mosque, alhamdulillah the Muslim population in Leeds is ever increasing and this project was absolutely necessary to help to solve the challenge of severe overcrowding that LGM experiences during every Jummah, Taraweeh and Eid prayers.

In addition to the extra space the extension project, we were also able to improve disability access by installing a lift and a new flight of stairs has overall improved access to the sisters section.

We also created a proper office for our imam, a new library as well as creating new rooms on the first floor, which we transformed into dual use rooms so we can also use them for prayer when needed. We installed some sound proof doors to some of the rooms; as to enable various functions to take place at one time.

Due to problem with existing system we installed a new heating and air conditioning units in the sister’s area upstairs. We have also upgraded our sound system for all rooms in the mosque. We have transformed the room downstairs to include glass view of the front of the mosque.

Alhamdulillah, we raised the funds needed for Phase 1 in 2012 and by the end of 2013 we have now completed this first part of our project – entirely through the donations of our congregation whose generosity has overwhelmed us.

The Emergency appeal December 2013

Our mosque suffered severe damage to its roof and infrastructure due to the recent gale force winds that swept the country and brought about a wide spread destructions. The main hall roof was completely destroyed. An emergency appeal was launched within few hours of the accident, and the generous community of Leeds didn’t fail to respond immediately. We take pride in the response that was observed as it was a reflection of the love and affiliation people have for their mosque.
