Ramadan 2016

June 05, 2016

***Ramadan Mubarak***

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamu alaykum wa-rahmatulahi wa-barakatuhu,

Leeds Grand Mosque would like to congratulate you of the beginning of ramadan and may Allah make it a month of goodness, blessings, happiness and peace for all. We would like to announce that the first day of fasting will be Monday 6th June. Therefore the first Taraweeh prayer will be Tonight (Sunday) immediately after Maghreb and Isha prayer. Thereafter Taraweeh prayer will start at 10:45 pm from Monday evening up until the end of Ramadhan.

We will have many activities and circles throughout the month including daily Qur'an recitation with shiekh Dr Taher, Ramadan children and youth Quran school (Living Ramadan), study circles, our annual Quran competition and more. Please check our website and Facebook page for more information, we will keep you posted on all our activities.

This year we are happy to announce that we have a prepared the first LGM Ramadan booklet, which includes healthy eating habits in Ramadan, principles of fasting in the blessed month of Ramadan, the Ramadan prayer timetable and the Ramadan activities timetable. The booklet will be distributed for free to the congregation over the next few days in the mosque.

As a part of the mosques objectives of being environmentally friendly, we will be providing the congregation with reusable plastic bottles at a price of £ 1 to be used during the Taraweeh prayers (They will be delivered and distributed insh'Allah by Wednesday)

***Very Important***

We would like to request you keep mindful of our neighbours when you leave the mosque after Taraweeh prayers. It is important we reflect a positive image of Islam and we cannot do this if we continue to disturb our community - please keep quiet and do not congregate outside the mosque before and after prayers.

Please familiarize yourself with the LGM Ramadan policy attached

This year, Iftar meals will be served weekly every Saturday.

Wasalam,

Leeds Grand Mosque
