Health Awareness day for ladies at LGMThursday 14th April 11-1pm .
As Muslims we appreciate that our health is a blessing from Allah. It is our duty to seek educating ourselves of how to look after this blessing of health which Allah entrusted us with.Workshop 1: Bowel cancer is England's third most common cancer, with around 34,000 new cases each year. bowel cancer is the second biggest killer, but it needn't be that way. the sooner a patient is diagnosed, the better their chances of successful treatment. Workshop 2: Thalassaemia is a severe, life threatening anaemia and children with thalassaemia need to have a blood transfusion every 3-4 weeks in order to survive, as well as constant medical supervision and medication. There are an estimated 214,000 healthy carriers of thalassaemia in the UK, most of them being unaware that they carry thalassaemia . Unfortunately there is very low awareness of the condition in the general public, even among those communities which are badly affected (Mediterranean, Asian and Middle Eastern Communities).
