Eid for the family

Each Eid we hold an event for our community to bring families together and share in the celebrating of the two auspicious days. One such event was an Eid picnic held in Roundhay Park, it was an excellent opportunity to enjoy the weather and both parents and children enjoying playing some sports. However the children wanted to do more than just have fun; they spent some time going around the park giving roses out with hadith attached to them. Not only did this give them a chance to speak to people about Eid, it helped them share a saying of the Prophet Muhammad ( ) and receive many smiles back. This initiative gave the youth an insight into the manners of approaching the public, and is a small step towards us sharing our celebrations with the wider community.
