Eid Al-Fitr 1445/2024 Announcement

Leeds Grand Mosque

We are pleased to inform you that Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10th of April 2024.

The prayer timings for Eid al-Fitr are as follows:
1st Prayer: 7:00 am
2nd Prayer: 8:00 am
3rd Prayer: 9:00 am

Remember to bring your prayer mats and water bottle.

This Eid, the following arrangements for our sisters are in application to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience and to minimise potential congestion:

1. We will be implementing a one-way system specifically for sisters. This means that the entrance (for sisters) to the mosque will be through the back gate, while the exit will be through the front gate.
2. We will be providing plastic bags to enable you to keep your shoes with you, eliminating any congestion that may occur near the shoe racks.

Finally, the mosque’s doors will close right after Duhur Prayer & reopen at Asr Prayer.

Eid Mubarak to you all.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Over the years, LGM has consistently engaged in the popular tradition of distributing toys for children during each Eid celebration. However, this year, we've made a compassionate decision to redirect the budget allocated for this activity (£4000) towards supporting children in Gaza.

In light of this, today we have donated the entire amount on behalf of the LGM community to the Palestine International Medical Aid Charity. They will utilize these funds to provide essential medical assistance to hospitalized children and support orphans in Gaza.

Jazakom Allah khayran for your support and understanding.
